SAFE HOUSE by David Guggenheim.  6 figure sale to Universal for Scott Stuber to produce.

more info via Variety:

David Guggenheim has set up his “Safe House” at Universal Pictures.

Scott Stuber will produce the thriller that revolves around the young house sitter of a CIA-run safe house who must help a criminal, who’s being hidden there, avoid being killed as they flee to another secure facility when the first house is destroyed by villains who want the witness dead.

Project was sold for mid-six figures and proved a hot property after hitting the market yesterday. It ended up at Universal this morning after a bidding war erupted between other studios and producers.

Guggenheim is a senior editor at US Weekly in Gotham, and the brother of Marc Guggenheim, a TV showrunner who recently left as executive producer of ABC’s “FlashForward,” and screenwriter Eric Guggenheim (“Miracle”).

Stuber produced U’s “The Wolfman,” which bows this weekend and is heading up Peter Berg’s “Battleship,” based on the Hasbro boardgame. He was also behind the studio’s “Couples Retreat.”

Guggenheim is repped by APA and Madhouse Entertainment.
